“There has always been an enthusiasm, an excitement and a passion for music, for as long as I can remember” Ian Parliament
Ian Parliament has an instinctive and inherent ear for music. This 28 year old musician’s musical education, experience, flare and versatility on his instrument has made him a sought after instructor. Ian’s appreciation for music is apparent through his personable and patient approach to teaching music.
Ian received his first guitar at the age of 13. From there, it was his passion and drive that lead him from his small town roots to Toronto, where he was accepted into one of the countries most exclusive post secondary schools, to study jazz. During this time he honed his skills studying under many world class musicians and playing in a wide variety of music groups
Ian has an appreciation for all genres/styles of music, which in turn, lead to the formation of a fusion group “Laundry Room Quartet” winning Ian and three fellow band members the COCA band awards in 2002 for the best live college act in the province.
After Graduating with honours in 2003, and performing in multiple venues, Ian began teaching guitar lessons. At the present, Ian resides in Whitby Ontario, where he teaches at his home studio. He also plays and writes music for special events and can be seen performing with The Great Canadian Nobodies.
